About the firm: Kampbell Legal Planning, PLLC is a boutique law firm located in beautiful North Tacoma practicing primarily in the areas of estate planning, probate, trust administration and business transactional law. We do almost no litigation, have friendly clients and a very low-stress working environment. Office hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30-5.
Job Description: We are seeing a paralegal/legal assistant to:
Perform client intake
Communicate effectively and compassionately with clients, other counsel and professionals including monitoring and responding to email and phone calls
Manage attorney’s calendars and deadlines
Create and maintain client files
Draft correspondence, pleadings, estate planning documents, real estate deeds, asset funding documents, letters, memorandums & business formation and transactional documents
Familiarity with or ability to research and understand local rules and laws
File documents with the Court, Secretary of State, Auditor’s Office, Department of Revenue, IRS, DSHS and financial institutions; experience with LINX
Read and interpret information from bank, brokerage and other financial statements
Take client calls
Track and report billable hours in a timely manner and meet billable hour expectations
manage billing for the office, perform data entry, occasionally act as back-up to receptionist on phones & other general office duties
Review deadlines, case and court files and determine next steps
Other tasks and duties as needed
We are currently working in our office but most client contact is occurring via email, telephone and Zoom video conferencing with the exception of estate planning signings.
Requirements:
3+ years paralegal/legal assistant experience in the filed of estate planning, probate, business, etc.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel & Outlook
Experience with billing time and operating a billing system. Experience with Tabs preferred
Excellent grammar, punctuation, spelling, editing and organizational skills
Knowledge of estate planning, probate, trust administration and business procedures and law
Ability to switch between tasks and priorities quickly
Positive attitude and desire to assist clients and attorneys
Must pass WA State criminal background check
Notary Public preferred
Compensation:
Salary depends on experience
